Comparing the Different Types of Boob Jobs
So you’ve decided that you want to have a boob job; great! Now all that remains is to have the actual procedure, right? Or so you think, but in reality the first thing you should do is make a comparison of the various types available to help you make an informed choice. The factors that should be considered are:
The Implant Material
When considering the implant material, while there are a few options available, it almost always boils down to two:
These contain salt water and are available either textured, smooth as well as either round or tear drop shaped. Saline boob jobs are advantageous in that they are safer and easier to insert into a small incision. Saline implants are available for women aged 18 and over, or rarely in girls under that age who may need it for medical reconstruction.
These are filled with silicone gel, which is highly resistant to leaking should a rupture occur. They are also available in smooth, textures and round or tear drop shapes. Silicone boob jobs feel closer to natural skin and are less likely to ripple or wrinkle. The minimum age to receive a silicone implant is 22, since a greater level of maturity is needed when considering the benefit to risk balance.
The Shape of the Implant
The more reserved woman may desire a tear drop boob job, since it appears more natural and is less likely to be noticed. These types of implant have a higher chance of getting dislocated, however, thus needing to be properly aligned during the operation. Round implants are easily identified as being fake, but are unlikely to lose their shape since the implant is completely spherical.
Boob jobs can be done using one of two shell surfaces; either smooth or textures. Smooth shells are better suited for women with thin skin and those women who have had problems with rippling in the past. Textured shells have a consistency similar to sandpaper and is said to be able to prevent a condition known as capsular contraction.
Profile of the Implant
The profile refers to the height the implant protrudes out from the chest cavity; obviously a petite woman with a high profile implant (even though the actual size of the implant may be small) will appear to have enormously huge breasts.
Comparing all these variables before you undergo the surgery gives you the best chance of achieving the look you want, while making the procedure itself less intimidating.
